Buckle up, Jeep fans! The legendary Wrangler, also known as the J70, is getting a makeover in 2028. It will be electric (or a plug-in hybrid, as you prefer). But this hybrid differs from the current 4xe. Instead of directly powering the wheels, the motor acts as a fancy generator, charging the battery.

A Wrangler going electric? I can't imagine it. These vehicles are all about adventure, and for many, that image includes ruggedness and power. So I don't think an electric Wrangler would work. Just my two cents.

Wrangler still has time to develop this vehicle even further. Improving the suspension and tires while keeping it hybrid will change the perception of other people. Let's consider that rapid growth of technology will make the impossible, possible.

If it will be released in 2028 there is a possibility that it will be better than what we are expecting. With the advancement of technology, I wouldn't be surprised if the battery capacity and range will increase. I'm excited about what Jeep will offer to entice customers to choose their Wrangler EV over their competitors.
