What are your expectations on an all EV off-roading Jeep?

Hey all! It’ll probably be a while before electric Jeeps are tearing up the trails. They’re heavy, and there’s still plenty of doubt about how they'll handle rugged terrain. Off-roading with EVs is a bit like going into the wilderness blindfolded, lots of guesswork.

That said, a buddy of mine took his Rivian to a Jeep club event, and it actually impressed everyone, even in stock form. Maybe the weight isn’t such a roadblock after all. With their instant torque and electric power, EVs like the Rivian have some serious off-road chops. Looks like it’s all about adjusting expectations and maybe lowering them a little less than we thought
 
I love the idea of an EV Jeep, but charging off-grid is still a massive question mark. If they can figure out portable charging solutions or build out more solar-powered off-road stations, that could make EV overlanding way more realistic. Until then, I’d probably stick with a hybrid setup for longer trips.
