At this point, we all know a fully electric Jeep Wrangler is inevitable. But for serious off-roaders, battery weight and range limitations are real concerns.
I’d be open to an EV Jeep, but only if it had a range-extending engine (like the Chevy Volt’s system) to generate power when needed.
Battery weight - Will a heavy pack kill Jeep’s off-road agility?
Charging limitations - What happens when you’re off-grid?
Best of both worlds? - Could a small onboard generator be the answer?
For me, if an all-electric Wrangler can’t handle serious trails without compromise, I’d rather stick with gas. Would you buy a fully electric Wrangler, or does it need a backup generator to be truly capable?
