Is Jeep really ready for an fully electric Wrangler? I'm not convinced. The batteries just aren't there yet. They're too heavy to give you the same oomph as gas. We need some serious battery upgrades before that's a good idea.

An all-electric Wrangler is definitely a bold move, and I get your skepticism about battery tech holding it back. You're right, batteries add weight, and that can impact performance, especially when you're talking about a vehicle known for its off-road power. However, EV torque is pretty impressive, and electric Wranglers have surprised many with their capabilities. Jeep has been working on this for a while, and I'm guessing they've done a lot of testing to ensure it lives up to the Wrangler name. It'll be interesting to see how they balance the weight and range equation, and if they can deliver the same off-road experience that Wrangler fans expect. Battery tech is constantly evolving, so who knows, maybe they've cracked the code. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I agree, it's a big challenge.

I get the concern, weight is a big factor, especially off-road. But if Jeep nails the range, torque, and durability, an electric Wrangler could be a game-changer for adventure lovers.

The Wrangler has always been about simplicity and reliability. Electric powertrains add complexity. It'll be interesting to see if they can maintain that core ethos.
