I’m all for an electric Jeep Wrangler, but my biggest concern is range on the trail. If Jeep went with a setup like the new Ram 1500 Ramcharger where a gas engine acts as a generator to extend range I’d buy one in a heartbeat.

- Pure EV on the trail but with a backup generator to get home.
- If Ram’s system works well, could Jeep use the 2.0L turbo as a range extender?
- A setup like this would mean no range anxiety while still keeping electric torque for off-roading.

I love the idea of electric 4x4s, but a Wrangler with a range-extender system sounds like the best of both worlds. Would you rather have a fully electric Wrangler?

A range-extended Wrangler sounds cool in theory but I wonder if Jeep would actually do it. They seem pretty committed to full EVs, and adding a gas generator might complicate things. That said, if the Ramcharger system works well, I could see Jeep following suit. My only concern, would it still feel like a Wrangler? Off-road purists might argue that it’s not "real" Jeeping if you’re relying on a generator. But personally, I’d rather have extra range than get stranded in the middle of nowhere.
